My old mate Billy…

My ol’ mate Billy Power dropped into our music shop yesterday. He was looking for some RockaBilly music. Ol’ Billy can play a mean banjo you know.

Got me thinking about… Billy!

He brought his two brothers, Will and Hoss along for a bit of a browse. Will is a very strong minded bloke and Hoss has a lot of pull in the town.

Billy got to telling me about the place he has up in the hills. He’s got a little house, runs on solar power and he does a lot of his cooking outdoors. He’s a bit of an old hippy hillBilly is Billy.. He lives with his grizzly old side kick Joe, and Billy the kid, a cranky old Billy goat, and they both get on his goat at times. Every month he harnesses old Billy goat to his old Billy cart and heads off to town for supplies. Then on his way home he likes to stop off at his favourite spot down by the Billybong to enjoy a little smoke.

Afterwards, over his campfire, he likes to enjoy a nice hot Billy tea brewed in his dented and blackened Billy can.

Occasionally his mates Will Power and Hoss Power join Billy, relaxing and playing the banjo down by the Billy bong drinking Billy tea and sharing Billy’s bong.

Mayhap I’m just a bit of a silly Billy… but it was a quiet day at work and yes… obviously too much time on my hands! But Billy is just one such interesting and eccentric character that adds colour and flavour to any county town.

Note… names have been changed and any resemblance to real characters is pure coincidence.
