Reports that ACDC to retire…

Rumours have surfaced that the iconic Australian band, ACDC are retiring with several rumours reported on Australian media today.

3AW radio had a caller named “Rock Caller” suggesting that ACDC will be announcing their retirement sometime today, however neither the band nor it’s spokespeople have confirmed or denied the reports.

The radio shows entertainment reporter, Peter Ford said that, “The suggestion being put to me is that that tour will not happen and we will never see AC/DC perform again or record again,” Ford said.

He also said, “The boys have a pact that they will not get anyone else in the group; nobody will be replaced and when somebody leaves, the group ends.”

This has prompted discussion about whether someone has fallen ill or can no longer keep up with the band’s gruelling travelling and performing schedule.

Last week, Perth radio station 6PR received an email from an anonymous source called “Thunderstruck” stating that, ”My information is that Malcolm Young has moved himself and his family back to Australia, he’s very very ill and that AC/DC may well be history,”

ACDC began in 1973 when brothers, Malcolm and Angus Young began performing together. Over the years the band has included many other artists however right now the other members of the band are, Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd. The members currently range in age from 59 to 66 and have spent most of their lives playing rock n’ roll.

While it would be such a tragedy for Australian music if the band was to retire, we hope that the men and their families are healthy and happy.
