Could Apple unveil a new, 6 inch iPhone today

Sep 10, 2013

images (1)The much awaited new series of iPhone is expected to be announced today, the 10th September, US time.  Millions of people are expected to tune into the live webcast hosted by Apple’s Chief Executive, Tim Cook, who is believed to be announcing the launch of Apple 5s and 5C.  But could he also be announcing the introduction of a new product range, perhaps an iPhone 6 with a 6 inch screen, or a Smartwatch?

Apple has apparently sent out press invitations — with the tagline “this should brighten everyone’s day” — on Tuesday to its next-generation iPhone launch event.  (See below)

Rumours are whipping round the Internet  about the possibilities of the launch, and the product pipeline that could ensue.  But most websites feel our hopes of a new product range will be disappointed this month, with another event expected next month to launch iPad device upgrades.  The primary driver behind this new product range appears to be a rumoured deal done with China Mobile to bring a low cost model of iPhone to the mass population of China.  The 5C phone is reportedly made of a plastic composite to bring the costs of manufacturing down to a retail price of approx $99 US.

According to Expert Reviews, “The company is just one day away from formally announcing its next-generation iPhone 5S and cut-price plastic polycarbonate iPhone 5C, but rumours have been spreading that another device is in the works, designed to compete with phablets like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3“.

And we know the Smartwatch has been in development by Apple for some time.  Could it finally get a launch the week after Samsung announced theirs?

Apple is also expected to launch the new iOS7, the upgrade to its operating platform for its mobile devices and may be in the position to launch an Apple Radio to rival .
