Ever wondered what your credit score is?

Sep 03, 2014

A new website has launched yesterday that lets you find out what your credit rating is through an online interface for free.  The site, called getcreditscore.com.au allows you to enter your name, birthdate, drivers license number and date of birth and it will go off and fetch your credit score which is the same number used by banks to evaluate your eligibility for a loan.

Increasingly, financial services providers, telcos, lenders and utility companies are using your credit score to determine how worthy you are of being their customer, and at what rates of risk they should price your custom.

The system, which has had so much demand across the nation that it has crashed tonight, will give you a ranking using the VedaScore system, the same one that is used by institutions.

A VedaScore falls in a range between 0 and 1200. The higher your VedaScore, the better your credit profile and the better you may appear to credit providers. If your veda score is low, you can take some remedial action like consistently paying your loans and bills on time; using direct debits on payday and working out payment plans with credit providers..

Visit getcreditscore.com.au to have a go and find out your score…
