Getting in the right mindset for a wonderful retirement

Feb 13, 2014

Gearing up for retirement is something that should be embraced wholeheartedly, especially since it’s a time to pursue more of those things you love. While life accumulates wisdom, unfortunately there are some people who retire with a bank balance that is insufficient to carry them through, or depending on their health and physical ability, they simply think that it’s all downhill.

This is where applying the Law of Attraction can help. And the beauty is that it can be used by anybody at any stage of life.

Retirement

Basically, the Law of Attraction is magnetising to us who we are. Everything is energy, so depending on what vibration we are running at is what we attract. In order to attract prosperity and abundance in your life, you must genuinely believe you have inner wealth.

But it goes deeper than that. It’s also taking action on those things that intuitively come up as prompts of what is a good thing for us (‘universal prompts’) in terms of the direction we need to take. The question is, do we listen to those prompts and take action? A lot of those things we get prompted to do mean stepping into the unknown, and by doing the action part inevitably doors will open. As Martin Luther King Jr. once said: “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”

How to get the right mindset in retirement…

Meditation

Good physical and mental health is vital, as is starting your day with a positive attitude. Meditation is like gym for the mind, so meditate each morning for 30 minutes to get your energy flowing.

Affirmations

Affirmations help reprogram the subconscious mind and remove any self-limiting beliefs.  Repeat them to yourself every morning and put your mindset in the right direction. Make sure you speak as if they are happening now, even if they are not. For example, ‘I accomplish anything I put my mind to because I know I’m never alone’.

Mantras

The ancient practice of mantras, which is the repetition of a series of words, can be unique and strange at first. But when repeating these words out loud they have a set of vibrations that actually release an energy which it brings back to you. Triple mantra is probably the most powerful mantra I know and you only need 11 minutes of it each day.

Surround yourself with positive, likeminded people

It’s important to surround yourself with upbeat, likeminded people who encourage you and support you. Steer clear of energy vampires and self-sabotaging patterns to maintain constant positivity.

Pursue your passions with confidence

If there’s a book or poetry you want to write, or if you’ve always wanted to surf or become a musician, it’s never too late. Now is the time to pursue those decades of calling that have been dormant.

Being of service to others

The Law of Attraction isn’t necessarily about getting things you want or hoarding material possessions. Sure, you might manifest a new car, but it’s also about serving others as well, such as a charity or leaving a legacy. The universe is big on flow and giving back. It helps you and then you can help others.

Financial boosters

It’s never too late to start at looking at other options of creating passive income for yourself, plus there are numerous opportunities to educate yourself. If finances are limited, seek online business opportunities that don’t need a lot of investment. Be realistic about your return and how much income you need each week. Then look at leveraging yourself out of the business and seek multiple sources of income.
